It's crazy how much it looks like a levin with those stupid indicator lights removed..

Ray: Thanks again for the hand out there! The car deserves the credit for spinning both tires - it does have some sort of differential which locks sometimes.

Unless that car was some frankenstein someone pieced together with oddball junkyard parts, there is an LSD in it already. For the apparent year of that car, all 8.8 differentials behind the 5.0 came with a factory traction lock diff (clutch style).  More than likely, its just worn out.  For about $50 you can rebuild the diff and reorder the clutch plate stack to fit another cltuch plate on each side (4 vs 3 per side), and add in an F-150 "s" spring for more preload. I did this for a while and it worked great but then switched to a T2R when I did the 31 spline conversion (and after I got tired of rebuilding the stock unit). The T2R is a nice improvement over the factory upgraded LSD, but for the $$$ of the T2R, it wasn't as worthwhile as other improvements I could have had for the same money.

I personally don't like the front end mods you are proposing, but it's your car so who cares what I think.   I kept my front end mods simple, opened and smoothed a cobra front grill insert, spread the front fenders, CF hood. It's no full kit 240 but it doesn't look that bad... I hope.

^sticking out like a sore thumb this weekend

That's right, Traction-Lok is the type of diff it has. When we first changed the fluid it contained a lot of metal and it hasn't be checked again since. Our research points to the fact that a stock rebuild won't last long under the stresses of drifting. I believe Geoff said JR tried a few different diffs before settling on the consistency and reliability of a spool. No one makes a drift type LSD for these cars yet.

The car isn't going to get the attention we'd like it to without doing something completely different with the look. As it turns out, most mustang owners aren't very creative when it comes to changing the look of the car. Some folks on the mustang boards couldn't get over the fact that we removed the stock GT wing. "zOMG no wing? wtfwtfwtf?"

Last time I talked to JR he was using a quaife and loved it. I remember because I was suprised he liked the gear type diff.

Yeah, dropped the front down to 500lbs/in. (rear is still 250lbs/in)

We also raised the rear ride height a bit. Both things helped the car out.

The guys are Eibach are going to hook us up with a few more rates to try, as well as possibly a few different sway bars.
