that looks dope. those motors are cheap too i just looked on ebay. like 500 bucks. someone should put on in a 240. i wonder if they are heavy from wiki debuted in 1989 in the first generation Lexus LS 400/Toyota Celsior with an output of 191 kW (256 hp) and torque of 353 N·m (260 ft·lbf). The engine was progressively released in a number of other models across the Toyota/Lexus range and proved to be a strong, reliable and smooth powerplant with features such as 6-bolt main bearings and belt-driven quad-camshafts.
Initially running 10:1 compression, the engine was slightly revised in 1995 with lighter conrods and pistons and an increased compression ratio to 10.4:1 resulting in peak power of 195 kW (261 hp) and torque of 363 N·m (268 ft·lbf).
In 1997, Toyota's VVT-i variable valve timing technology was introduced along with a further CR increase to 10.5:1 bumping power and torque to 216 kW (290 hp) and 407 N·m (300 ft·lbf).
The 1UZ-FE was voted to the Ward's 10 Best Engines list for 1998 through 2000.
i guess its aluminum alloy and weighs about 380 pounds. i wonder what the tranny weighs and how that compares to sr/ka. someone do it

i didnt actually deal with them in my case little own again. i had a kiwi contact/ mate organise it, and the setup uses 2 sets of ae101 4age 20 valve throttles, respaced and mounted to suit. i actually supplied a set of 8 to them and they reset them, as they were out of stock at the time i was looking for the kit. they have several sets of stack lengths, but i chose the ones that keep the whole engine at the same height as the stock inlet manifold, just for clearance issues. not sure what the engine in the video with the blue stacks runs cam wise, but mine are totally unopened and stock as they came from toyota. seems to work for now in the lightweight ae86 shell. im actually onto my second engine, as testing and thrashing have found their only real weak point. a month or so back,( boxing day actually) the first one developed a rattle or tappy knock, during an event. i needed to finish the event as it was last round at a local series that i was leading, so i drove through with a damaged motor..
seems they use a hollow, sodium filled exhaust valve from factory, that sometimes under long/high loads, let go, which is what happened to mine.. dosent happen often but sometimes, and yeh like over there in the US i guess, here the engines are as cheap as a set of forged pistons for my old 4a-gte.
we are gonna pull the heads from my first motor, get some new valves and seats ect ect done, along with port work and some cams, and the kiwi guys reckon with similar mods they can pull up to 500-550 engine hp from them in aspirated form, quite reliably. should be INSANE in the 86 body..

yeh i run a w58, but not a dellows housing. these same guys maketheir own cast bell housing as well. they pretty much specialise in bits for that engine. They make a bellhousing and flywheel kit, that mates up to any stock or aftermarket toyota mr2 turbo or celica gt4 clutch kit, so i simply went to my local store and purchased a heavy duty exeedy kit for a gt4, and it bolted right up. hardest part was quite simple, and that was that the 1uz never came manual, so i had to measure the rear of the crank, and the input shaft of the 'w' gearbox, and go to the local bearing supply and purchase a spigot bearing to go in the end of the crank. must have been quite common, as it was on the shelf..
ive been told that they also produce a kit , ie bell housing ect ect to mate an 'r154' gearbox up as well, if you are looking at making BIGGER hp from them, but we've also found that from their testing, the 'w' earboxes will hold up to around 400 hp if you are nice to them.... saying that, ive managed to smash 2 w boxes in 6 months, but we have figured out what i was doing wrong, and since then not had a drama at all..

yeah, i actually have a few w58's that i could use but rather not. i'm going with the R154 since i know i'll blow a W58 as aggressive as i will want to drive with this car. plus i will be rocking the 18's so the w58 will go snap!
some guy from the lexus forums in new zealand is contacting them for me. hopefully i hear good news!!!

a1turbos are great.. I've been there and know the guys who run/work there. Their pricing is very reasonable if you ask me. When you receive the gear (or get work done there) you will understand.

Karl, so as far as their pricing goes, you don't think they'll be able to offer me any discount? a1turbos are great.. I've been there and know the guys who run/work there. Their pricing is very reasonable if you ask me. When you receive the gear (or get work done there) you will understand.
