Gearing up for MDU 2013

^^^ya it's right around that. But I have to ship the motor back to Cali. now that I found out I'm moving there come Oct. I'm looking on the costs for that right now, gonna be roughly $650 to send it back half way. Doesn't make sense to me, but okies.

so I finally made it back to the states! Yay! I'm in California: Hot bitches, stupid sales tax, the beach, who could want more?

I need some help though, within the first week here I bought a S13 and a S14. Now I can't decide which one I want to put this motor into and which one to make the daily driver. What do you guys (and girls) think?

1990 S13: Borderline junk car. I picked it up from a guy dirt cheap because he couldn't get it to pass smog. Being military and all, I just registered the car in my home state. With that out of the way, the motor runs perfect, manual transmission is in "ok" condition (2nd gear is a bit rough getting into). The paint is oxidized and the car is stripped of basically everything interior wise, just has 2 seats and a steering wheel. Hey! It's half way there to being a missle. But other then it looking really rough on the outside with different color panels, the body is in decent shape. The usual amount of rust underneath for being 18 years old, but nothing really damaging.

1995 S14: This car has a salvaged title, but everything is perfect on it. It's really odd because this car is bone stock. Hasn't been touched. Hell, the A/C still works and still has the POS Nissan stock stereo. The paint is that nasty as fuck gold/piss color and besides a few chips on the passenger side door, it's in really good condition. No rust on the body, just a little on the rear subframe near the diff. Automatic, no ABS, no sun roof, and the cruise control even works.


I'm leaning towards the obvious, making the S13 the missle and using the S14 as the daily, but I'm also thinking a bit down the road. Use the S13 as the daily while I'm building the S14. Once thats on the road, sell the S13, and work towards a decent daily. Maybe a Kia or some shit. So what do the rest of you americans think?

Build the S13 and sell the s14 later on to upgrade to a better DD...       you will have AC and auto to daily now and will probably get more money out of it.

fuck it, I went with the S14. Because thats how I roll.















So as you can tell, i got the motor in today. I was in a rush because I was using the autohobby shop on base and they charge by the hour. They were gay and wouldn't let me take the A/C out, so I'll worry about that later. I'll try to post up some pictures on the wiring job when I get around to that. But hardest part is over, motor is in place, just gotta get everything else around it hooked up.
