We use Concrete K-Rails, Water Filled Orange K-Rails, and the Yellow and Blue Go-Kart mini bloks. The event organizer, Ron Emard, is the owner of both Lancaster Harley Davidson and Palmdale Honda. He purchased 60 concrete K-Rails for this year's event. The Orange and mini bloks are borrowed from the City every year. The charity organization donates something like $300K a year from every event back to the community so they don't think twice. This year will be the 3rd year drifting has been in the program. Attendance without drifting was about 12K, the event started as a Huge Harley/Classic car show, with Concerts and other stuff in the mix. Attendance with drifting hit almost 20K spectators last year. www.thunderonthelot.comWhen I met Ron he knew nothing about drifting, and he's all about it. Had Midwest No Star bash this weekend. Car held up awesome. Realized the setup is super laggy, which was awesome because it made me clutch kick a ton and make cool noises. Once RPMs hit about 4k the new setup rips and made even more cool noises. Did a bunch of awesome tandem, hopefully pictures and video will surface.    First gear drifting was awesome. 2nd gear you were going too fast so you couldn't see the cars. 1st gear was perfect. |
