alright so heres my vynil. shit i used is made for doing cars. its designed with a honeycomb effect to help get rid of bubbles. a little bit of heat, a vynil applicator and some patience(ok a lot) it turns out really good. i bought a 60 inch wide by 10 yard long roll for under 300 bucks. i got a hookup because its my friend and i told him id run his company name on my car. normally the shit would go for double or more than that. any vynil/sticker shop can get it.

the back half, sideskirts, and front lip is vynil. only reason i did it was to cover up bodywork. and if anyone says they used vynil and theres NO wrinkles....slap them because they are lying.

I saw a chrome bmw at sema a few years back that was vinyl. Looked sick. Mind you, when you have the money, you can get it applied correctly.

I have a pic somewhere if someone wants to see it.

One stage paint and all the gear will run you like $200.  This is silly.

yea vinyl can be the jam if applied with patient and proper tools. all i used was a replacement razor blade and my hands.

i have A.D.D and my car came out ok but then again if you dont care enough to go with vinyl in the first place it really doesnt matter.

i am happy how it looks in pictures!

the chrome/foil types are hard to apply because they aren't flexible. If you heat it, tends to cause issues with the foil.

If you get standard vinyl, the thinner the mil the easier it should be to apply but usually it is more expensive.

If you go to a major vinly supplier you should be able to get wider rolls.

The stuff on that bmw looks like a wrap similiar to what they use for NASCAR and on the sides of vans etc.

Just paint it - Maaco or Earl Sheib for the cheap.

cmon broham,  were past this now,   your car looks better now then it will with the wrinkled ass old balls vinyl.
just save your money and do some decent paint.
i know sometimes in retrospect it seems like it was a good idea, but it wasnt.
take my word for it, im going back to paint for a reason.

its not that vinyl is a bad idea, they just suck cause you guys dont know what youre doing.

if you want it done right though, you may as well get a 10 footer paint job. cause a real wrap is a good amount of money. ive done 18 wheelers and uhaul type trucks for my stepdads company and its a lot of work. hence the cost.

and if anyone says they used vynil and theres NO wrinkles....slap them because they are lying.

that's cause you don't know what you're doing.  my boy who owns a vinyl shop has done many a car perfectly, with no bubbles or wrinkles at all and i've seen a bunch first hand.  but hey, its what he does for a living.  there was a guy at FD Jersey also with a picture perfect Honda truck done up in flat black vinyl who vinyl wraps cars for a living.  looked just like flat black paint and he was right behind the DA booth so we talked with him for a while.

lemme let you in on some secrets:

1) all those glitter/chrome/metallic vinyls don't work because they actually have metal in them, as thin as it is.  so they won't do multiple contours or they'll crease.

2.  regular vinyls will contour to anything if you learn the techniques.  plus he said to do it right it takes like almost a whole week.  i've heard of places charging $1500-2500 to vinyl wrap a car.

3.  there's a new vinyl company that just came out where they actually PAINT candy colors over vinyl.  so its real paint going on your car.  and somehow its still totally flexible.  so you apply it just like vinyl, but you actually have a real painted car all said and done with 3 stage candy colors and pearls and shit.  they paint an entire roll of vinyl with a special flexible paint, then send you the entire vinyl roll already in your painted color and everything.  its not laser printed, its actual paint.  they literally JUST sent my boy the booklet.  its expensive as fuck tho, but still.  nice if you wanna switch up paint jobs every so often and not worry about the prepping or actual spraying.
