Stay away from the 3VZ.  They blow headgaskets.  I like Toyota trucks, R motors are indestructable, but they do suffer from lack of power.  You could circumvent that with a gear.  Gear sets are cheap.  That might solve some of your problem.  They are great on gas.

I just towed a ae86 with a 660cc Suzuki Jimny (Samurai in the states).  It was fine to about 60 kpm (about 40 mph).

and yeah we used to flat tow our FC's all the time with a tow bar and CJ's chrystler minivan and never had any problems.... with the van anyway. hah.


anyone know about the nissan pickup V6's ? VG30e?  any better than the 3vze?
