anyone towed a car with a late 80's or early 90's toyota pickup?
really want to get a small pickup for hauling stuff/going up to the mountains/winter driving, but i would like to be able to tow stuff occasionally with it as well... possibly even a small car/trailer or dolly.
the toyotas are rated to 3500lbs towing capacity which is prob right at the limit, but also only have ~ 150hp, 180 lb-ft. for the 3.0 V6 model, which is pretty low already, so obviously its not going to do well up a mountain pass.
but how about on flat ground? has anyone done this before?
also looking at nissan pickup which is about the same power/towing capacity, and a lot uglier,
and mazda/ford b4000, which have a bit more power, but only 5 lug and like 2300 lbs towing capacity...
anything else I can look into?
I'd love to get a T100 with the 3.4L, but its a little more expensive and bigger than I would like.
and F1/250 and similar shit is way too big. still needs to be able to parallel park on a crowded street, and get decent mpg (low 20's ?)
