The transmission options are W58, R154 or Getrag from a Supra....not sure what spec your IS has but ours has an NA 2JZ, which can be turbo'd, possibly cheaper then swapping in a 1J/2J Turbo and dealing with finding a transmission and all the peripherals.

Some dude on here picked one up with a 1J swap not that long ago, all he had to do was fix the wiring if I remember right...if I can find the thread I'll link you. Good luck  <3

love love love IS's...just never see em done.

love the is. go with 1jz/5 speed. its rare to find those with factory 5 speed and its rather weak as well. 6 speed is $$$$. also boosting na/ motor isnt that hard, many parts swap including the longblock..

i sold mine without doing much to it. its a lot of car for the money, very well built. for a good turbo build you will need some moneys.

The JDM version has the 3SGE Beams whatever i4, but i think it's Apexi? has a bolt-on turbo kit, everything you need, and it makes it fast as FUCK. I remember Randy and I tried racing one on the streets one night and he was keeping up with us. (when I had the 460hp S14 and Ranzo had the ported big turbo FC)

Shit is inline 6 not inline 4.

They do a compressor kit for it, but sounds weak.

NA 1jz fits on the 6 gears manual gearbox i has on it?

Post a picture of the engine bay. If its all ready a jz series engine in it then it just bolts right in, but I thought is200's were 2.0L 4 cyl. VVTI 2jzgte's have gotten a lot cheaper over the past couple years and are easy to get. Finding the right version of r154 for your swap can take a little time and money though. I am using one out of a jzx100 and it lines up perfect with the shifter hole. If you get one from a supra you will have to extend the housing to fit. Other than that they all bolt up to 1j/2j.

I'm in the process of getting my 1jz is300 going. I ended up having to redo a lot more than I originally thought because the previous owner screwed up a few things beyond the wiring. He just didn't know any better and got in a little too deep on the project.

The main thing with these cars is that the stock ecu is tied into a lot of things on the car. What I ended up doing is retaining the stock ecu, using the stock lexus engine harness and trimming and rerouting wires to fit the 1jz nicely. Then I am using a boomslang (www.boomslang.us) patch harness and building a subharness off of that which will be connected to the 1jz ecu. This way the engine will be controlled by the 1jz ecu, power fc in my case, and the car (gauges, a/c controls, etc.) will be controlled by the stock lexus computer.

I should have some updates in my thread in the next week or so. I've just been too busy to mess with the car much over the past couple months. I'm really itching to get it running now though.

That's exaxtly what i was thinkin to do.

Also on bimmers it works.

And here it comes the problem...

I MAY have an S38 engine EUDM 3.6 315 squirrels for VERY cheap... gearbox too...

Will just need to re-do engine mounts, tranny axle, other shit in the engine bay.

2jz aristo bolts in. supra motor does not and it will require custom mounts. cheaper to go with 1jz 5 speed than a 6 speed which is 2k$+

So i've got an EUDM LExus is200, that's a 6cyl 2000cc Toyota Altezza, rwd, everything.

Car has 330.000km and a manual transmission.

Wanna put a Lexus GS300 engine in it, that happens to be a 2jz something or 1jz, dunno, have to buy it on Ebay.de

What do i need / how much money will i spend?

Gearbox will fit on that engine?

I know that in the states you got the Lexus is300 with the manual transmission, it's rare but it does exist, i've seen it on ebay.

 embarrased

The cheapo Lexus has been bought by an Albaniggerian or whatever, it had 340.000kms, planned to retire it tomorrow evending, not gonna happen, i need a toy.

Now i got as chances:

'99 S2K , new engine, 9000 euros

'03 RX8 , 100.000km engine, 7000 euros

Keep the money and spend'em on drugs and hos.
HAHAHAHA

you change so fast!!!

i kind of want an S2K, i think it would be fun
