I've been working on this bitch for the past 3 years. I guess my  goal with this car is to make it look more S30-ish, and take the 80's out of this car.  I'll start off on the body since that's where most of the time has been wasted.

2002 spec

Shaving of refrigerator-style door handles. Steel patch welded in and some bodywork. Best tool to remove pinstripes: tire valve chucked in a cordless drill.

Door solenoid. Get some steel in the eye, go get it drilled out, and call it a day.

Removed the foam wing, welded up the holes in the deck for that. Shaved the rear wiper and antenna. Welded on some sheet to the rear of the deck. Hammered it into shape to form the foundation for the new spoiler. This is also the beginning of the new S30-with-no-bumper-style "bumper". Due to the sides of the Z31 having less curvacious lines than the S30, this would turn out to be a lot of work to get the look "sorta-good". I cut the mounting surface off of the plastic bumper and riveted this sheet to it.

Some cutting, bending, and hand forming.

Would have been a lot easier to shape some poly foam blocks to get a foundation to lay the fiberglass on, but i looked and couldn't find any of that shit.

Welding on more metal to form the sides, and laying fiberglass.

Kouki front end conversion. Replaced the headlight assy's, hood, and bumper cover. Got one of the last 200ZR TBO front lips before the company folded. It is probly the only one in the U.S.

Lip was cut in half for shipping.

Cut some vents in the hood above the turbo area. Used a pipe to flare them up. Here it is after much fibering and filling. Neato.

Took a long ass time to get all this poly primer off. Now it's off to sit in my garage for over a year.

The color is Ford sonic blue pearl effect. Changes from blue to purple sometimes, but I wish I put flake! Sad

I don't know how you bodyshop guys keep your sanity.

You seem to find all of the best qualities about any car and accentuate them. Nicely done!

Now it's time for semi-trailing arm ----> S14 multilink swapu!!!
Remove tired Z31 stuff and throw away.

Gratuidous "hey look, I got parts" pic.

Your standard S14 subframe. Pink dots indicate the locations of the old mounting points on the car when installed.

See.

Yes, that IS a nissan part sticker stil on the subframe, and yes, that IS rust on the subframe. Welcome to the salt belt. Hey, check out this beam on the frame that just so happens to be in the right place. Dope.

The modified subrame. Now with solid front mounts extending out. Note tabs I welded to the back to bolt up to the old mount temporarily. I'll eventually weld the rear S14 mounts solid and mount them on studs welded to that cool beam. I threw a KAAZ 2 way in there too, cause I heard it helps make drifts.

This picture shows a spring mount that will never be used again, and areas I needed to bash in, notch, reweld to get this stuff as far up into the car as possible.

Suburban Driveline made me this driveshaft. It's longer, stronger, and lighter than stock. It also sodimizes the rubber S14 one.

Lower it down, and ......awww shit. (coilovers at min and max height)

Tried to use S14 knuckles up front with the coilovers. Not only is it set farther back, it has a wicked case of battleship. I'll have to weld the kouki Z31 strut tubes/knuckle assy's to the collars on the Tanabe DD's.

This is my solution for the rear. I think it should stop a .50cal round. Removed the top mounts from the sustec pro's and now they live inside gas pipe.

Overkill, maybe, but I'm trying to cover as much surface area as possible to distribute the load. Remember, this used to be the shock mount, now it carries the weight of the car.

I'll report on the front as soon as that gets underway.

Havent' really made up my mind yet, but it probly won't be Nissan. I'm gonna need a new job or sell the S13 before that happens though. The stock motor makes @230hp now. Coupled to the new 4:11 rear end, it should put down decent torque.

You've been working on this thing as long as I have known you, so glad to see it progress over the years, but your moto and pfieffer signature on the fender is now gone...

Batcave for the win! Awaiting completion of two purple things.
